Beautifully Organized: The Everyday Exotic
Today is a great day!!
Welcome back to the blog. Life is good and all is well. Essentially, as I'm flowing through life I'm finding myself able to just flow in an effortless manner. In life...you get what you work for. I will never be the one who claims to have a perfect life...but I do believe in organization. For the entire quarantine, my garden has brought me joy. If you take the time to actually just look at what you have...you'll find that in the simplicity of the every day...you can actually enjoy your life.
This is something that I came to learn in time...and it's not really something that people can give to you per say. All the great gurus will tell you...that you have to generate your own happiness...and as a result, I take the time to actually do this on a daily basis. Here are a few quick tips for happiness:
a) You are not alone. The beauty of life...is that you're not the only one who's a (fill in the blank). If you ever feel like not cleaning, studying, working etc...just remind yourself that you're not the only one on your path and it will actually motivate you to get things done. If I don't feel like cleaning...I put on a YouTube cleaning video...and in about a minute or two...I find the motivation to actually get things done.
b) Focus on gratitude: There's a reason that you're you. Statistically...you are in the top 10% of the world if you have internet access. You have the ability to create the lift you want because you have access to information. Knowing this...you can take relevant action and pretty much be able to change your world for the better.
When it comes to staying hydrated, you have to be very deliberate about your ability to keep your body at its peak health. Every week, I've taken the time to actually work on my hydration system and allow myself to ensure that I'm taking in the right amount of water on a daily basis. Drinking water...is something that you have to be responsible for, so take the time to ensure that you're accountable for yourself. To make life fun...I change the flavors of my juices, so that I'm enjoying the process of taking care of myself, and also ensuring that I'm allowing the thrill of variety in my palette. There are so many options, so if you take the time to explore, you'll be enjoying your life on a daily and weekly basis. I look forward to these highlights....they bring me so much joy.
As my gardening adventures progress, I've actually managed to make the Ackee and Saltish fritters. Modifying a recipe that I'd seen on the Grace Foods website, I did successfully managed to accomplish the objective. I'd set an intention to get this done about a week ago, and I've been sticking to my routine. Here's the recipe for those who may have missed the original post:
HOW TO MAKE ACKEE AND SALTFISH FRITTERS
Preparation time 15m
Cooking time 20m
For 6 Person(s)
1/2 pound(s) counter flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) white pepper
1 small onion, chopped
1 small sweet pepper, diced
1 cup of ackees, drained and crushed
1 teaspoon(s) Hot Pepper Sauce
1 medium egg, beaten
3/4 cup(s) whole milk
1 cup(s) Vegetable Oil
1/2 cup Saltfish
Ackee and Saltfish Fritters Directions
In a large bowl sift together flour, salt and white pepper.
Add onions, diced sweet peppers, crushed Grace Ackee, Saltfish and Grace Hot Pepper Sauce. Mix well.
Add beaten egg and gradually add just enough milk to make a batter that drops easily from a spoon.
In a large skillet heat vegetable Oil. Drop batter using a tablespoon; fry for 5 minutes, turning on both sides until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
My creation is shown above, as you can see from the picture. One of the things I've learned about cooking is that you just create as you go. The baseline above...works, but if you don't have all the ingredients, you can just take the time to actually just utilize items on hand. For instance, in my recipe, I added French Thyme to add some flavour from my own garden.
For August, I've taken the time to actually top up on my sugar. My DIY mason jars are still going strong. Even though the rum bottle twins exist for my Hydration system, within my pantry, I do have the Pantry twins, which are a pair of coffee bottles. These bottles are the ones that I have to house my brown sugar and my brown rice. Essentially, what I do with these is find foods that colour coordinate with the containers, and I then take the time to transfer my items once I've had time to re-stock. What's important is to ensure that your pantry is appealing to the eyes. With the packaging, it can be jarring to eyes, but if you take the time to place the items in neutral packaging, you can actually take the time to ensure that your items are organised.
We had another birthday in the household, so I took the time to create a gift basket, after a party that we had last week. Working with my golden theme, I took the time to center the basket with some golden butter cookies, some Butter Almond Food Drink and some banana chips that look more high end. Egg Nog is always a nice touch, so I took the time to actually ensure that I was able to complete the basket. The items are individual but they all complement each other on the theme that was chosen.
MAKE UP FREE WEEKS
For the past month...I somehow haven't felt like wearing make up. Aside from the fact that as a nation...we really haven't been able to go anywhere...I've pretty much been allowing myself to just ensure that my underlying skin is well taken care of and fresh. At most, I've been wearing an aloe vera moisturiser that came in my Allure Beauty Box, and the process of testing all of these different products is really making a difference in my beauty life. Make up free...and fresh faced, I'm enjoying the process. I've linked the beauty box below for your convenience.
These are my highlights for the week! Enjoy the day!!
